| The South Bay has it’s own
special allure and some great shopping. Across the street from the
El Segundo Civic Center is a great place for deals on women’s
fashion clothing. R-Chameleon carries in season and last season’s
designer clothing at 40%-75% off original retail.
The boutiques owner, Rita has good connections in the rag trade
from years of work at both Ross and Nordstrom’s. Using these
connections, she snaps up great buys on in season merchandise and
then sells it for less.
Her lovely little boutique is easy to shop with just enough stock
to make it fun. Goods by Maggy London, Free people, Ralph Lauren,
Inc, Lilly Pultizer, Guess, Milly, C & C, Elie Tahari, Juicy
Couture, Angie, BCBG, Theory and more. The racks are organized by
size and what the discount is, plus you’ll have to use your
noggin to figure out the price. All the original tags are still
on.
I started rifling through the 75% off rack first. In it were last
season’s winter goods. A black Juicy Couture hoodies was $34.50
instead of $138. A C & C LS tee was $17.50 instead of the original
$70. A super cute turtle neck poncho by Inc was $19.75 instead of
the original $79. A totally killer Elie Tahari beaded skirt was
originally $598. But now it was only $169.50
The rest of the store is a flat 40% off, which is easier to figure
out in your head than 75% off. A Cute Studio M, 2008 summer top
was originally $49, here it’s $36. A neat Free people skirt
is now $52 that originally was originally $88.A Calvin Klein peasant
top is $28.80 instead of $48. A BCBG summer eyelet dress is in stores
now at $200, But here it’s $120.A Maggy London Summer dress
is here at $69 instead of $115. They even have some designer jeans
by Joes and True Religion. The Joes “The Honey” are
$106 instead of $178.
The sizing runs xs- xl and plus size woman are not left out in
the cold either with three racks full of items to choose from. Standouts
include an Alfani black dressy top in 2x that originally was $79.
Here it’s $47.40. An Elie Tahari wool knit skirt original
tags had it at $298. Here it’s $178.80.
There is not much in the way of accessories here. But a table full
of Lucky Brand belts at 40% off at $26.40 instead of $44 is good
enough for me. Plus they also sell online at on Amazon.com and Ebay,
and new arrivals come in daily. So it’s their inventory is
constantly changing.
A coffee house /café is next door so after you load up,
you can perk yourself up with refreshments. Easy to get to, free
street parking and great deals on designer duds make this a must
stop. Too much fun for one day.
