Sometimes some terrific bargain haunts are hidden in plain sight. They look like other low-end, everything $10 or less type stores packed with no name knock off, cheap garments. But looks can be deceiving. Without investigating, I normally would have walked past LA Action Outlet, classifying it as one of those low end stores.

But LA Action Outlet isn’t what you think. The savings here are 50%-85% on brand and boutique label kids, teens and women’s clothing.

Located in an outdoor mall on South La Cienega Boulevard, Westside parents should find this a welcome relief from overpriced boutiques and department stores. You’ll find trendy casual girls teen labels Self Esteem, Anchor Blue, LA Kitty, Belle Du Jour and Billy Blues all at 50%-70% off. Retail on these labels runs $20-$48. Here almost everything is $5.99-$14.99. Trendy- very… but perfect for persnickety, fashion obsessed teens and their moms.

I took my own persnickety 12-year-old with me and she was in heaven trying on Self Esteem tees at $5.99-$9.99, hoodies $9.99-$14.99 and jeans $9.99 -$12.99. Every piece would have been double or more in price at Macy’s, Kohls and Nordstroms. I even snapped up a pair of Billy Blues trousers for $12.99.

But, even with solid savings of 50%-70% on teen and women’s trendy brand name apparel, it was the little girls stuff (infant thru size 10) that totally blew my mind. They had over 8 racks packed with higher end boutique labels Little Mass and Le Pink. This amazingly cute line normally found at high end kids boutiques, was here at savings of 65%-85% off the original retail. The stuff was so cute and the pricing so good $9.99-$19.99, that I kept trying to get my, “I am so grown up now” 12 year old to try on a couple of pieces.

A pair of Miss Mass white capris were $14.99 instead of $38. A tiered Le Pink peasant skirt was $9.99 instead of $42. A Le Pink party dress was $19.99 instead of $88. A white ribbed dress with a flouncy pink skirt was $19.99 instead of $90. A Little Mass infant tank dress was $9.99 instead of $38. Truly if you love high fashion for your little ones, run don’t walk to this outlet.

Obviously they specialize in manufacturer overruns and end of season. But some items are in smaller supply including some cute items in jeans and tops for hip moms with Anne Klein, American Rag Cie, Express and Bisou Bisou jeans at $9.99 to $14.99. There are some tees for guys and some plus size tops and pants for women by Apostrophe, Style and Co., and Sonoma at $5.99-$12.99.

The reason to go here is to snap up the fabulous deals on the baby, girls and teen wear. You’ll save plenty and “the kid” will look great.
