Often when we are looking for the best products in any given category we usually just look at price compared to performance.  The Good Guide does it a bit differently.

With ratings from 1-10, they score a product based on a comprehensive set of health, environmental and social indicators.  So far they have rated over 47,000 personal care products, 2000 household products, 22,000 food products, 1000 pet food products, over 2000 toy products and over 1000 paper products.

GoodGuide is in business to provide authoritative information about the health, environmental and social performance of products and companies.  Their mission is to help consumers make purchasing decisions that reflect their preferences and values.

Basically they’re into better products that are healthy, green and socially responsible and giving you the information to make that assessment.

You can search products that you already own or are thinking about purchasing… They have a IPhone app so you can use it at the market or store.

In Beta “testing” Mode… They’re not as yet a “Bible” on product information, but another good source to find out information on product in many different categories to help you make a better, informed choice.
