The Cost of Beauty- Part Two

This last year my daughter finally got her braces taken off.  But she didn’t experience the thrill she should have. During the treatment her teeth had darkened. Even after cleaning they still looked yellow. At 14 she should have lovely white teeth, especially after 3 years of braces and the amount of money it cost us.

So we bought some Crest Strips Pro at $45 and they did whiten up her teeth, but it took awhile and I still thought her teeth could be whiter.  I asked my dental group what a whitening treatment would cost… $500. Yikes I don’t think so. Months passed and I kept an eye out for specials through Groupon etc. The best I saw was $200. A good deal, but too much for us.

Then I caught a small ad for savings on whitening done by a Certified Whitening Technician and Dental Hygienist. The going rate is $450-$500. Her price was a stunning $99. I jumped on the deal.

Erin Kinne is a Dental Hygienist 4 days a week at a local dentists office. In this tough economy she kept hearing the same thing. Patients wanted whitening, but couldn’t afford it.

So she decided she could offer it for less. On Fridays and Saturday Mornings at an upscale Day Spa in Encino she does whitening for $99 using the same whitening systems local dental offices charge $450-$600 for. That’s on a 60%-80% savings!

We went in early Saturday morning. Erin took the time to evaluate my daughter’s teeth and treatment. Taking special care to check the results and how she was doing every 10 minutes. Erin spent extra time on her lower teeth which were especially dark to make sure all the teeth whitened evenly. We were outta there in 45 minutes.

The results were terrific… really white teeth. My daughter finally got the thrill of a beautiful smile she been hoping for and I didn’t drop a bunch of money.
