Online Sample Sales have brought the joys of shopping sample sales to millions of Americans who do not live in major metropolitan areas where these types of sales usually happen. Savings tend to run between 30%-85% off, with the bulk at 50%-70%. Making for serious savings on better quality goods.

Those of us who do frequent these local sample sales can also enjoy the fun and savings found at the dozens of online Sample Sale sites. But like regular brick and mortar sample sales, you gotta have a plan of attack to score at many of these sales.

Online sale policies will vary from site to site, but these tips will give you a great start:

*Already be familiar with the product line being sold. Know the quality, regular retail price along with fit and sizing before you purchase.

*Be ready to shop right as the sale starts, the best items will sell out within a few minutes of opening.

*Though you can’t do this with every site, put an item you’re thinking about in your cart, even if your unsure, so no one can buy it while you shop around.

*Many sites will let you scan the product before the sale starts. Know what you want before the sale opens and shop that first. Don’t dawdle. Items can sell out in just a few minutes.

*For those sites that don’t let you see the product early, scan through the product as quickly as possible. Remember this isn’t a local sale, it’s national or a world wide sale with thousands more waiting to buy… especially on the most sought after designers.

*Sign up for all the online sample sale companies. Make sure you get their emails. That way you’re kept in the loop and will get advanced notice of sales.

*Some sales will offer returns for credit and some sales are final sale. Know before you purchase. If you can return you will normally lose the shipping fee. Be as sure as you can be before you buy.

*Just like regular shopping websites, make sure to check if the site is secure. Look for “S” at the end of HTTP portion of the address.

* If you’re buying for a time sensitive gift, check to see when they plan to ship the item before you purchase. It can take up to several weeks before an item is shipped.
