My Babyliss Hairdryer

By Suzanne O'Connor

Back in 2007, I was able to get an incredible hair cut at the Sassoon Academy. Initially it was for a Beauty Bargain segment for a news station, but in the end I was the winner with a fabulous cut I’ve been wearing a version of ever since. Thinking outside the box and working with real professionals, pays off.

The Sassoon peeps were pretty happy with the segment and 2 weeks later, their PR firm sent me a gift basket as a “Thank you” with all sort of hair product including a Babyliss Carrera Pro Hair dryer. I was ecstatic to receive their incredible gift basket with all the goodies. Very classy.

That Babyliss Carerra Pro hairdryer that came in that gift basket back in Spring 2007 has been the best damn hairdryer I have ever owned. My thick, wavy, often fuzzy hair came out straight and shiny every time. I’ve used it daily, along with my daughter for the last 10 years.

Sadly, these last few months it has been dying a slow death. The power is cutting in and out, and it has an odd squeak when I first turn it on. It is in it’s last throws of usable life. That Babyliss is a workhorse hair dryer. Always did a great job on my hair and it lasted 10 years. Quality matters.

So I’ve been looking for good deal on a new Babyliss hair dryer everywhere.  I’ve looked through Ebay, Craigslist, Amazon, Walmart, Target, as well as a dozen or so Beauty sites. The price range is vast, ranging from $48-$148.  But when something worked great and lasted a long time, if you can, you buy it again.
