Extra Fabric

Okay with our reupholstering and window curtains done I am left with a lot of extra fabric. Yards and yards of upholstery velvets, paisley, stripped, silks and pin stripped fabric.

So here’s the plan:

We’re gonna take some extra brown velvet and dining chair fabric over to Villa Firenze’s North Hollywood location and have them made into 2 runners for the dining table and buffet. I am also gonna have them make a couple extra throw pillows with the extra upholstery fabric and a café curtain for our new back door window with the extra pin strip fabric.

These are easy enough sewing tasks for me to do myself. But I figured I should spend my time on more productive ventures like finding & researching cool bargain hot spots or hitting the upcoming LF Warehouse Sale and Descanso plant sales.

Even with runners and extra pillows being made I should still have over 3 yards of brown velvet and brown & blue Paisley fabric left. I didn’t want to take the chance of not being able to get more. So I still have too much.

What to do?
Well, Hubby likes to read at night in the King wing with his feet up. So today we’re headed over to Valley Upholstering to have Joanne design and custom make an ottoman to match our Chippendale king wing chair.

Should cost way less than purchasing new and with a custom design it should match in size, style and design the wing chair. Perfect.
