Drawbacks of Online Shopping

Since I have been sick this last week with a virus/ flu thing I have had to resort to finishing some of my Holiday Shopping online. I haven’t been up to shopping my favorite local Sample and Warehouse sales. That is such a drag! Especially when this is the best time of year for these sales.

I have bought items for my daughter and hubby thru Overstock. Gilt Group, Amazon, Ebay and have surfed many more. One Sample Sale site I have given up on for timely delivery is Beyond the Rack. Of the 7 things I have order thru them since September, only 2 have arrived. One I had to cancel cause it didn’t show up on time after ordering 5 weeks in advance. And I am still waiting on four items. All of them purchase in November. Average delivery time 5-7 weeks.

Though they state that they will be a delay in delivery when you order, I have found it usually takes to 2 week longer than stated. Communication is bad and I don’t really care how much I am savings if they hold onto an item, for a month before they send it. I don’t think it’s a trade off to get a deal to have to wait so long for shipping. Especially when other sample sale sites ship much faster.

Though the selection and discounts are terrific at Beyond the Rack, unless you’re willing to wait, I’d pass on shopping through them except on a whim. But even that loses its joy when you have to wait so long to receive your item, you can’t even remember what you ordered.
