Coupon Shopping

By Suzanne O'Connor

We all know using coupons can save you money. Especially if used in conjunction with store club cards. But finding coupons for items you regularly use can be daunting. So try these tricks so you save on what you use.

Many companies have websites and newsletters that you can sign up for online. That way you’ll be included in any sale, event or coupon promo. They give out these coupons and promos to you because you have indicated to them you are already a valued consumer. So go cruise the web for your favorite brands, labels and manufacturers and get on their email list.

Check your favorite items packaging.  You’d be surprise how many coupons are printed on the inside of boxes, in the actual product or on the products packaging including those peel away coupons on the outside of products.

While shopping down the aisle of your favorite grocery store , look for the “Blinkies”. Those are the little machines in the grocery store with the flashing red lights that spit coupons out. Check to se if your favorite product is on there and if not just take the coupon for use later on. They’re manufacturer’s coupons, so they can be used anywhere.

Keep your receipts. Check the backs of them for neighborhood coupons and the print out for in store coupons. Store coupons can often be used with a manufacturer’s coupon… doubling your savings. A good way to get store coupons is by signing up for store loyalty programs.
