Boot Shopping

Though I own a ton of heeled fashion shoes, I live in comfort shoes, specifically these plastic dance clogs by Dr Scholls.

Great for kicking around, shopping and standing long hours, they are not good in cold or wet weather. Living in the foothills with rain and possible mud slides on the way, I needed a really good boot. One that will protect my feet, keep me dry and hold up to the elements.

Fashion boots won’t work. Stylish rain boots are too limited. What I need are work boots.
 A trip to a couple of outlet/ off price discounters only yielded fashion boots or they didn’t have my size!  I did find a pair of Timberland work boots on Amazon… but they didn’t fit right and I had to send them back, losing about $5 in shipping… drat!

I cruised thru Shoe Steal.com, Shoes.com, Overstock.com and any other off price site that might carry boots. I finally started cruising Zappos.com. I have always felt that this online super store was overpriced…. But they have free shipping and free returns. A good feature when you are trying out boots.

I settled on a pair of Harley-Davidson Alana Biker Boots on sale for $99, down from $124. Not a huge savings like I usually get, but enough so I didn’t pay retail.

Hopefully these will work out and I won’t have to ship them back.

In the mean time, rains on the way and I have to wear my hiking shoes or fashion boots until these biker work boots arrive.

Maybe I should die my hair black to match my new goth biker boots?  NAH!
