AAA Premier Membership Benefits
My Mom used to go on and on about the benefits of a basic AAA membership ($47). I would nod politely while she went on. She did a full article in the LA Times about the virtues of membership years ago. I have just always been a member for the obvious benefits…. Car towing, easy DMV renewals, highway safety and their terrific FREE maps, discounts at hotels and restaurants, etc.
Later on Hubby purchased the premier AAA membership ($102) when we were doing serious long distance highway driving. I again politely nodded in agreement. Didn’t want to waste energy in that discussion. As long as it added to the safety in our lives I was cool about spending the money.
This last year though has seen us use the benefits this membership offers to the extreme, saving us a lot of money. Several notarizations saved us $40 a pop. Plus a free towing from Temecula to LA and another from Bakersfield. Hello… I have more than saved my yearly fee.
We are embarking this year on a new or used car purchase I am gonna try out AAA first this time, especially with the FREE Carfax reports ($39) and the auto buying consultation.
Here’s what ya get with the Premier membership above and beyond the regular discounts and services:
FREE Notary service
FREE Carfax reports
FREE 200 mile towing
FREE Credit Report Monitoring with a 10,000 credit insurance
FREE 24 hour Concierge service- (Haven’t tried this yet.)
FREE Automotive inspection and consultation- Fabulous!
FREE Car buying consultation
FREE Vehicle Pricing reports
FREE US Route Support Getting the right directions.
FREE Emergency fuel delivery
Rental Car benefits with tow
Up to $1500 trip interruption benefits
24 Hour Emergency Travel and Medical assistance (Don’t know exactly what this means)
$300,000 in travel insurance
Up To $100 Home Lockout Service.
Up to $500 in Vehicle return benefits
UP to $150 Vehicle Locksmith services
Discounted Airline and rail travel processing fees
And more.
You may not feel you need all of these services, So I would recommend the AAA Plus or basic until you see how you use membership.
Not a member check it out. It’s worth every penny and more!

Had to tell you I finally (!) went to Happy Eyes Optical last week and bought my son a pair of very cool glasses. Initial estimate from LensCrafters, for just lenses was $415….at Happy Eyes, the lenses, lightweight and glare treated with RayBan frames came to $245!! Thank you so much for this great tip.
