Yippee the Holidays are Over!

The mad shopping rush is finito. The cookie baking is done. The tree, wrappings and holiday cheer are all put safely back in the garage. Peace is restored…. Not.

I didn’t make any new resolutions this year. I’m always working at saving money and being more frugal at advantageous buying. My only big frugal change is the thermostat is now off at night and set at 67 in the daytime. I am trying to acclimatize to our new chillier digs. Glad I got a set of Bed Head flannel PJ’s�  from GomattaGirls.com.

I have been shopping more thrift stores of late as we needed few more items for the new digs and I am determined to pay next to nothing. I’ve hit every thrift store in a 10- mile radius looking for Fireplace tools and am now cruising thru Craigs list. You won’t catch me buying a cheap set cheap. But I am looking for a good quality set at under $35.

The surprise hit of Christmas was the second hand Ed Hardy hoodie I picked up at the Silverlake Crossroads for $15. This last minute gift was just an afterthought. The loud happy squeal from the kid was bigger than her reaction to her new Nintendo DS. I guess used is still cool.

The other big hit was the $10 flying helicopter toy (retail $40ish) I picked up on www.Ihavetohavethat.com. It’s been flying around the house every day bringing a smile to everyone. Every guy should get some sort of toy at Christmas. A cheaper toy can still add joy!

So now it’s back to work, uncovering deals and bargains in unknown places and helping all of us save more money and spend what we have, more wisely.
