Winter Coat Wish List
Tuesday…..Okay I am finally Obama’d out. After talking to friends who went and then watching the throngs of people in DC, freezing at 25 degrees, I am happy to let go of the historic moment and hang in LA at 75 degrees where I don’t need a winter coat.
I am still looking though. This Christmas I gave my incredible Burberry trench to my Mom in Law. Honestly, it really looked better on her. So now I am in the market again for a good coat.
I bought my Burberry coat at the Address Boutique in Santa Monica way back in 1992. I’d wear it 3-5 times a year and always get compliments. I picked it up for $150. A year later for a winter trip to Alaska, I bought a Eddie Bauer jacket rated to subzero temps. Got it on sale at $90. Both were quality have served me well.
My wardrobe should have a new, dressier coat. With so many sales, now is the time to buy the best quality you can for less. A well-styled, high quality designer winter coat will last for years. So I am being picky. Since I don’t really need it, I have the option of taking my time to look around for a great coat at a great deal.
Websites I have checked include Blue Fly.com. I found this one by Michael Kors for 50% off at $183. But I would rather have it longer and in black or brown.

I totally fell in love with this Military looking coat on Overstock at $119 instead of $320. But they only had medium left (I wear a small/ extra small)

I have tried on quite a few, but none thrill me. So the hunt continues.
Bet it will be 80 degrees in May when I find what I want. But I’ll wait and bargain hunt for the perfect coat at the perfect price. In the meantime my 1994 Eddie Bauer, sub zero jacket will do in a pinch. Buying quality at a discount always pays off.
