Friday Night Fun
Our Friday night fun started at Frederick’s of Hollywood at their Hollywood store. Smack dab in the middle of all that is going on in Hollywood, this flagship store is half a block from the Kodak and several blocks down from the Pantages.
We found parking ($8) behind Musso and Franks, Hollywood’s historic restaurant, if overrated restaurant. We cut through to Hollywood Blvd… where, wouldn’t ya know they were filming on location, complete with cops and A.D’s stopping pedestrians …. The tourists totally dug it.
At Fredericks, Hubby and I indulged in drinks by Couture Cocktails, p.i.n.k. Vodka, Fuze Energy Drink and Rehab RX. I didn’t try the Rehab RX but the Fuze energy drinks and Pink Vodka were fabulous…. Or a least a more healthy buzz.

He watched me get a free hand massage and followed me around sipping his martini nodding his approval at the naughty lingerie that I eyed… at 20% off during the event, they were even more affordable. The fun part is watching the guys casually drink while watching their girls shop through sexy lingerie.

They all try to be cool and nonchalant.
I got a free hipster panty just for rsvp-ing and came home with some sexy lingerie. Drinks, lingerie and shopping… I obviously am not the only one who digs this. They have their last Friday at Fredericks on 7/6.
We then went off to cruise Hollywood Blvd. Even as a LA native, I enjoy reading the stars names on the sidewalk and looking at the handprints at Mann’s Chinese.
Since we parked behind Musso & Franks we decided to stop there for dinner. We were seated quickly even though the place was crowded. We had eaten there years ago when they weren’t a buzz with young Hollywood.

Before we ordered food I asked for a glass of the house Merlot. While I waited, I cruise the menu. They had dishes here I hadn’t seen on a menu since I was 10. Beef Stroganoff, Welsh rarebit and corned beef…Wow. But that’s not what startled me. Everything here is A la Cart. Really…absolutely everything, including the dressings for the salads. The Caesar Salad I wanted was $13.50. But if I wanted the anchovy dressing, it was an additional $3.75. If my husband wanted steak it ran $32-$35… nothing included. Dinner for one would run $50-$60 without desserts or drinks.
After this discovery my wine arrived and I drew in a long sip…. Yuck. Was the house wine Ripple or a Gallo jug? I should have sent it back, but realized we didn’t feel like dropping $100 for dinner when they didn’t even have a decent house wine. So we paid for our bite of bread and sip of wine and left.
The evening ended nicely after we went to a local La Canada Sushi restaurant Yuki Yama. Though it wasn’t the best Sushi we ever had, it was reasonably good with decent sized portions of well cut sushi. I do like a spicier Spicy Tuna Roll than what we got and I also like a little less fatty salmon. But the chefs treated us to complimentary oysters and the tempura was just right. We got outta there for $60 including tip. For those of you who live on the Westside, my all time favorite sushi place is Crazy Fish on Olympic in Beverly Hills.
We’ll leave the rest of the evening to your imagination.

Beaten and exhausted, I was once more entering the La la zone. This time I decided to stay in the zone and added a glass of merlot to the mix
