Weekend Musings
Busy weekend with us tracking iPhone App numbers, doing a sale segment at KFWB with Bob McCormick, discovering a new travel iPhone app, Trader Joes deals and recipes, Barneys Sale, Beatles Monoploy and a trip to the ER…. Never a dull moment over here.
A Newer Car
Well, we finally went out a bought a newer car.
After scanning ads, reading Kelly blue book values, visiting a lot of dealerships talking to dozens of car reps over the last year we settled on a 2008 Honda Civic (27,000 miles on odometer) at $15,500. A nearly new car and a good buy.
How to Upgrade a Disneyland Pass for Almost Nothing
This is a little secret that not many people know about. Not that it’s hidden away, but Disney just doesn’t promote it. I found it out thru online research about ways of saving money at Disneyland.
Are you ready: You can use the your current pass (either single day or multi-day) and apply it’s full value towards an upgrade for an annual pass!
Tips on Saving at Disneyland
We are back from our excursion and what a time was had by all. We have been Disneyland fans from infancy. Love the immersion and attention to detail that the Magic Kingdom offers and that no other park can pull off. We won’t go for years and then each time we go back, we say “these guys got it right”. Through all of those years (not telling you how many), we have never stayed more than one day….until now.
Sunday’s Shenanigans
This last weekend, we all headed to the Rose Bowl Flea Market. Unlike other visits, I wasn’t as thrilled with the vendors or prices this go round.
Has the word “recession” not been passed around here?
Adopt a Pet
Thinking of adopting a kitten? Now is the time. There are kittens everywhere.
Our new kitten, Oliver has added a lot of fun in our household and been an exceptional addition to our family, giving us lots of entertainment fun, cuddles and laughs.
Summer Camps
As a parent, this time of year is filled with checking out summer camps and programs to try to get a grip on the costs of my daughters summer experience.
When looking at camps, we consider her interests, our finances and how she did in school during the last year. We also try to limit her camps expenses to around $1500 and include some kind of Summer getaway vacation as well. Not always easily achievable.
To Drive… or Not to Drive
Driving in Southern California is nothing less than a hassle. Some areas of town suffer more than others with consistently heavier traffic making heading out to an off the beaten track bargain spot difficult.
I get it. But if you want to save money… real money, ya gotta drive.
Our Contest
In case you haven’t already heard, we are having a contest. We’ve been doing this BargainsLA thing for 10 years now and think it’s time to celebrate… and give back some of the fun… cause we’re giving away some killer prizes.
So we’re having the “I Love BargainsLA.com” Contest
A Great Gift for Guys
Giving a guy a great birthday gift is an art form. Over the years I have given hubby a few flops and some real hits. The best, according to him was a surprise Birthday party and the worst was a gift card … boring!
So when his birthday was coming around again, getting him something was causing me stress. That is until I met my friend Lizzie for lunch. She suggested ...
