To Drive… or Not to Drive
Driving in Southern California is nothing less than a hassle. Some areas of town suffer more than others with consistently heavier traffic making heading out to an off the beaten track bargain spot difficult.
I get it. But if you want to save money… real money, ya gotta drive.
Our Contest
In case you haven’t already heard, we are having a contest. We’ve been doing this BargainsLA thing for 10 years now and think it’s time to celebrate… and give back some of the fun… cause we’re giving away some killer prizes.
So we’re having the “I Love BargainsLA.com” Contest
A Great Gift for Guys
Giving a guy a great birthday gift is an art form. Over the years I have given hubby a few flops and some real hits. The best, according to him was a surprise Birthday party and the worst was a gift card … boring!
So when his birthday was coming around again, getting him something was causing me stress. That is until I met my friend Lizzie for lunch. She suggested ...
Bargain Theater for Theatrical Snobs
If you’re a theatrical snob or if you haven’t seen any really good theater lately, you’ve got to see Nevermore. This last weekend hubby and I went to the one-man performance of Nevermore with Jeffrey Combs at the Steve Allen Theater. What a fabulous surprise! All I can say is….
Wow!
AAA Premier Membership Benefits
My Mom used to go on and on about the benefits of a basic AAA membership ($47). I would nod politely while she went on. She did a full article about the virtues of membership in The LA Times years ago. I have just always been a member for the obvious benefits…. Free car towing, easy DMV renewals, highway safety and their terrific FREE maps, discounts at hotels and restaurants, etc.
Hollywood Piano’s New Warehouse Outlet
BargainsLA Fave, Piano Factory’s Hollywood Piano is rolling with the economic tide and is opening a new Warehouse Outlet in Pasadena with a huge Grand Opening Event on Saturday 8/29 (10am-6pm) - Sunday 8/30 (11am-6pm).
20th Century Props Liquidation Sale
I love treasure hunts, I love to scavenge for unusual, the unique and the outstanding deal. Naturally when I heard 20th Century Props was having a liquidation Sale, I headed over.
The amount of product and props found in this 118,000 square foot warehouse will leave you in awe… but don’t let that stop you from looking around. You may find a one of a kind piece of Hollywood history for a pittance.
Calling All Shoppers!
It always saddens me when I hear that people won’t walk into a warehouse or drive to an area ‘cause it looks dicey.
CHICKENS!
Tomato Pie, pizza, pizza, pizza
I am not a pizza lover. Oh I do occasionally get a craving, but if you have kids by the time you have been to your tenth birthday party you never want to see a pizza again. So I was surprised when my fellow parent and friend Lorelei kept nagging at me to check out this new pizza joint in Silverlake.
Cross Roads Fun
In Silver Lake, there is a rather good Cross Roads. This location gets a lot of NWT designer merchandise in dresses, jackets, tops and more for guys and gals along with the hip artsy community contributing some fun stuff, this is a great resale store to haunt. Savings are 70% -90% all the time.
