Those online Sample sale sites have expanded & grown to a staple haunt for any savvy bargain hunter.

I scan many of them daily. Not just for designer fashion goods for me, but also for my daughter and hubby. I usually find something I like everyday. But I always find something perfect … at a serious discount at least once a month.

A weekend excursion to re-check some of the stores at the Block in Orange had me totally sidetracked inside the Saks Fifth Avenue Off Fifth Outlet. They were/ are having an additional 5%-40% off almost everything in the store. The average savings here run 20%-60% off. With most items at 30%-40% when they first hit the shelves.

I was planning on a quick run through to see what they had when I spotted this incredible dress for the kid.

Vans Outlets

In this last weeks newsletter, I mentioned the stellar buys on sporting shoes at The Outlet By ELS. They have shoes by Vans, Converse, DC, Adio, Nike, Adidas, Emerica, and more. They’re priced here at $20-$25. But some of you did not want to make the trek to ELS in Monrovia because you lived too far away. Pity.

Renting is vastly cheaper than buying …. Often 90% less that buying. A savvy way to save some dough, especially if you never plan to use the item again. I have rented nicer cars for events,  camping and hiking gear, large tools, cleaning and home repair items. But you have to consider how much or long you’ll be using a product to decide if buying or renting is better.
