Last weeks NBC shoot left my poor back reeling. A visit to my chiropractor told me what I already knew, I had sprained it. Duh… immobility with pain was a good clue. Lucky for me, it was a minor sprain and no discs were out of whack.I have always been wired a little tight and have consistently dealt with the problem of tension between the shoulder blades. But work tension leading to a lower back sprain is a first for me.

As an ex- dancer I had sprained, strained, rip, bruised, almost everything, knees, neck, ankles, shoulders, wrists, toes… I even strained my Psoas Major muscle in 1998 (if you know where that is) and my mid-back area 7 years ago. I am not a wimp with injuries or unfamiliar with the recovery process.

Some rest, deep massage and a few visits to the chiropractic office will get me on the road to recovery. Hot baths, massage, heat compresses and some rest are what I am up to.

I have spent most of this weekend lying down on a heating pad in front to the TV. No bargain research, no Super Bowl madness, no shopping forays… no fun. Pooo!

Then…. they announced the release date, (7/21) of the last Harry Potter Book, “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows”. That along with the DVD release of The Goblet of Fire and the new film, Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix also coming out this July led my daughter to decide we needed to refresh ourselves on the whole Harry Potter thing with a day of movie watching. It was Harry Potter from dawn till dusk.

We went over plots and outcomes, wondered if Harry would get killed. Totally went over the all the developments of the last 6 books. If I lived in London I could really familiarize myself with Daniel Radcliff in the new production of Equus… No, that’s way too familiar.
