Open Open Open that BargainsLA Notice

I get a heck of a lot of email. I spend at a least an hour and sometimes 2 hours, on email every day. I use several different email addresses. A few addresses for consumer / BargainsLA information, one for general shopping and one vague address so I can research incognito.  So I already have a good idea ...

Those Small Purchases Add Up

As independent business owners, whenever we go thru financial dry periods, we are reminded of our small expenses. We master our expenses for awhile and then when business picks up, we forget our hard won victories. Those small $2-$5 expenses can wreck a budget.

A Bargain Bust

Often while checking out outlets with steep discounts of 40%-90% off retail, I have to stop myself from shopping.

Generally, I yawn at 20% savings. I take note at 30%, I pay attention at 40% and am likely to look at 50% off original retail. Though I try to be careful, I will buy, regardless of need, at 80% off.

Friends Who Pay Full Retail

I am often perplexed by people who ONLY pay retail, ONLY buy at Boutiques and Department Stores.

Believe it or not, I have had several friends who only pay retail. They live in the best neighborhoods and eat at the trendiest restaurants. These guys only buy brand new, latest and trendiest at top dollar.

Allergy Issues

I normally don’t share personal stuff, but if any of you are having Sinus issues, you may want to read this.

I have had a constant stuffy runny nose for over 10 years. Fogginess and fatigue plague me. I’ve consulted with many doctors and tried most medications both over the counter and by prescription. Improvement, if any was temporary and I don’t want to be having to take medication forever.

September & October are brilliant months for…

Big Savings, Little Savings

Kevin & I went in early to last weeks Robin’s Jean Warehouse Sale to shoot some video and finally meet the designer, Robin.  After a great visit and quickie video shoot, we were allowed to shop the sale early.

After 40 minutes we walked away with 9 pairs of jeans, paying $280 instead of $2300. YAY!

But, every single pair has to be hemmed.

Fourth Fun for Less

Our Fourth of July Holiday Week always includes Mom in Law’s birthday.  Since she comes in from out of town, every year we try to make it special without breaking the bank. This year with the extreme heat, it got a little harder. Outdoor activities were off the plate. But we were able to slay a great Birthday Week for her as well as keeping her out of the extreme heat.

A Risky Purchase

After running around town doing errands last weekend, we happened upon an Estate Sale late Saturday afternoon. I was exhausted, irritable and hungry from running around all day.  But the home was a 1920’s, 2-story Spanish, my favorite and I really wanted to see the interior.
