Spring Closet Organizing
Springtime is often a time when people organize and clean out clothing closets. Count me as one of those and then some. Living in a big, cluttered, confusingly spread out city like Los Angeles, I get a better sense of calm when things are organized at home.
But let’s be more practical than that, shall we?
Weekends are for Shopping…
The Spring sales at LF Warehouse and Descanso Gardens proved too tempting for me to resist. Though I got my bargain game face on at the LF Warehouse Sale, I was totally surpassed in bagging a bargain at the Descanso Sale.
Great Mothers Day Shopping
Time to get an early start on Mothers Day shopping. Check out these hot weekend sales and special deals on jewelry, designer clothing and gifts.
Roses
On the way home from the Today in LA show Saturday, I stopped by this Nursery in North Hollywood cause they had so many roses. I have a very bare planting area in my back yard that I don’t want to fill up with native drought tolerant plants and cactus like the rest of my yard. I have been fantasizing about some rose bushes for a few months. But needed to find them at a rock bottom bargain price… and I did!
Extra Fabric
Okay with our re-upholstering and window curtains done I am left with a lot of extra fabric. Yards and yards of upholstery velvets, paisley, stripped, silks and pin stripped fabric.
So here’s the plan:
Avoiding Temptation
When I am short on funds or don’t really need anything, I take my checkbook, ATM and CC out of my wallet and get by on cash only and keep less than $40 in my wallet.
I don’t like temptation…. Of any kind. Whether it’s high calorie delectable dessert or an incredible designer jacket, I always end up getting it if I don’t use some self-imposed control.
Tax Refund!
Yippee!!
This year, for the first time in our entire lives, Hubby and I are getting a tax refund.
Yes the Home buyers credit helped, but it was the icky economy that ultimately is the source of this unexpected windfall.
So whatta we gonna do with these dollars?
