FR Industries Sale is a Fave

A trip Friday afternoon to the FR Industries sale yielded so many outstanding buys I literally went berserk. I got 6, 84”x 51” lined silk curtain panels for $30 each for the new digs. A tapestry table runner for $35, a quilt for $35.

I will be heading back on next week for more curtains and tassels for the new bedroom and maybe, just maybe I’ll really indulge and get one of the beautiful, silk, “to die for” duvet sets for $85. Really these beauties would sell for over $350 in stores.

Michael from Dressed UP had a ton of women’s upscale clothes at over 65% off retail to add to the great buys on home décor and entertaining.

Here’s my Hot Sales posting…

“Spruce up your home for the Holidays! FR Industries/ Villa Firenza is having their annual Winter Warehouse Sale on weekends on 11/29-11/30, 12/5-12/7, 12/12-12/15 (Fridays 12noon-4pm, Sat. 9am-4pm and Sundays 10am-3pm). Save 50%-90% on duvets, pillows, silk window coverings and drapery, dog beds, and other home decor items. 11840 Vose St., North Hollywood, 91605. 818-503-9143. Cash / CC only. ”

This is one of my very favorite sales!

Black Friday

I have been asked a lot lately about Black Friday. I find I am not so enthusiastic about it. I know there are deals on tons of items in stores that normally don’t offer stellar savings.

My disdain may come from the fact that I see so many great deals all the time, 365 days a year, that one more day with more deals seems average. Yes- this is a great sales day, but so is the following Saturday, Sunday and weekdays. There are outlets and warehouse  sales galore, Unless your looking for some  technology or home improvement item chances are you can find it for less the rest of the year.

The last time I went to a Black Friday Sale was in 2001 when I went to the Black Friday special sale at Toys R Us. What a mad house! Crazy, obsessed, bargain driven parents….OY! Of course everything I was interested in was still regular price. Even I had to wonder why they didn’t go to the Mattel Outlet stores in El Segundo and Industry. My friend Lo loaded up for her kid while I looked for a way to escape.

Unless the item you want is very specific or one of those Wii or Sony items that is never discounted except at 5am Friday morning to the first 100 customers, I say sleep in, read the paper…  or surf the net to get your online shopping done before the delivery crunch.

If you can’t help yourself and must go hit the stores here are some sites that have the info you seek…

Me, I’ll probably avoid the malls and go to the Saturday Sale on Friday afternoon and hit the FR Industries Sale again on Saturday.
