While we away careening over the roads of the Western United States, my email went kaput and thousands of e-mails that normally would have come in were bounced back to the sender, so if you were one of those bounce backs, oops-sorry… I am here now. Try again.

Of those emails I did receive, many of you were asking specifically about big corporate sample sales. Though many of these are generally calendared ahead of time, many are done last minute, off the cuff.

The June sale at Splendid Ella Moss was an off the cuff/ last minute sale as was the last LF warehouse sale. Though both companies knew they would have a sale sometime this season, the specifics were left to the very last minute. I didn’t get the information until just a week before the sale.

BCBG, Guess, Arden B and Wet Seal also calendar their sales ahead, but only generally to season or month, without specific dates.

For those of you who didn’t know. The Wet Seal sale posted in Hot Sales during the second week of this last June was also the Arden B sale. Both brands are part of the same company. They will be having another one in December/January.

There is more overstock in all kinds of merchandise out in the marketplace than we have seen in decades. With our weak economy, many companies that don’t normally have more than one sale a year will probably have several.. Keep your eyes peeled.

If you haven’t visited your local discounter liquidator lately, go … even if it’s just Marshall’s, or Ross. The pickings out there are good, cheap and plentiful.
