Good things do come out of a recession. One of these good things is that now you don’t have to wait to the last Friday of every month to shop at designer showrooms. The Store has now opened.
The Cooper Building, the iconic showroom building on 9th and Los Angeles has opened a store for their tenants The goal of the store is to give tenants a place to sell overstock and samples direct to the public at 60%-90% off.
Value Maxx
Value Maxx is a classic example of a store that buy overstock and last seasons goods from the Federated Group (Macy’s Bloomies etc). Savings run 50%-90% below original retail on clothing and accessories for guys, kids and women. Most the stuff is your basic department store goods with good quality labels. But there are gems of good designer pieces here and there is a multitude of better designer shoes in the 5000 square foot women’s shoe section
When Old is New Again
With an hour or so to kill the other day I headed to Silver Lake to a well-established fashion outlet, The Circle. It was gone. In its place was a new store called The Runway.
Similar to the previous fashion outlet with savings of 40%-80% on designer goods, The Runway received a needed face lift and re-organization making it easier to shop their cool cutting edge indie designer labels.
