American Apparel Community Store
The king of casual California apparel is American Apparel. Perhaps it’s because we live more casual lifestyles here in California. Or perhaps we’re beach or fitness focused. Or maybe we are just lazy in our dressing style… But cotton tees, tops and pants are still king here and probably always will be.

Iconic Movers
As we go through the stages of moving, we are juggling everything, planning, sorting and packing. Moving is stressful. Planning and organization are key to smooth move. Finding a moving company that takes care of our antiques is super important to us. In the past we have suffered a lot of damaged by careless movers. We look for companies that have more than enough blankets and bubble wrap to wrap our treasures.
We found one!
Jack Winter…Our Roving Auto Inspector
Shopping for a good used car takes some research and a good mechanic. After doing the initial homework on the car ourselves, including web search, consumer reports buying guide and a test drive, we call in our favorite roving mechanic, Jack Winters, to inspect the car.
King Richards Antique Mall
One of our favorite Holiday traditional pastimes is visiting local antique stores & malls. Most antique malls, stores and dealers have been hard hit by the recession and have lowered prices or a more willing to bargain.
The market has dropped and if you love antiques and can afford to buy, this is a good time.
Our Home Renovation Sources
Our new home renovations are finally finished. We spent a lot, but saved a lot on quality workmanship and goods. Here’s who we used and where we bought stuff:
Al Menendez - Contractor.
We used him for everything from our new wood patio cover ($1200) to re-roofing ($6900- half was Spanish tile), garden cement pathways $3500, electrical, garage conversion w/ new foundation and new office finishing.
