Magic Kids Outlet

Canoga Park

By Suzanne O'Connor

Having kids is expensive. The USDA estimates the cost of raising a child through age 18 averages around $300,000. So parents have to be inventive and resourceful to keep cost down.

A new outlet that will help keep the clothing costs way down is the Magic Kids Outlet in Canoga Park. At this smaller outlet,  you’ll save 40%-80% off of retail on brands like Disney, Adidas, Levi’s, NBA, NFL, MLB, Collegiate Teams, Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, Hello Kitty, and more from infant to size 20 with the bulk being toddler and grade school clothing.

This wholesale distributor of brand name clothing sells direct to the public at some ridiculously low pricing.

In toddler, infant and kinder sizes I found a boys Kenneth Cole 3 piece set is $12 instead of $32.  A Strawberry Shortcake girls ensemble was $6 instead of $20. A Batman Tee was just $3. Some toddlers, Dora the Explorer 2 piece sets were $6 instead of $15. A Faded Glory Snuggle sleep set was $3 instead of $10.  Some 100% cotton Chuckleberries onsies were just $1. A reversible Hello Kitty zip up velour jacket is $8 instead of $30 and a Hello Kitty jogging set was just $15 and a Disney Princess one-piece bathing suit was $3 instead of $9.50

In older kids sizes there seemed to be more boys than girls, but a lot was unisex.
A cool Beatles hoodie that retails at $35 is $7 here. Some plain boys Jinco hoodies were $4 instead of $30. Some US Polo jeans that retail at $38 are here at $10-$12.  Some South Pole denim shorts and jeans were $8-$10 that retail at $42. Some OP board shorts were just $4 instead of $17- $18. A Roca Wear velour jogging set that comes in 3 colors was $15 instead of $78.

I also spotted some special occasion items in boys suits found at Nordstrom’s at $50-$100 are here at 60% off at $23 -$40. And some Christening gowns were $25-$30 that would normally retail at $50-$60.

Some Ralph Lauren sneakers were $20 instead of $60. Converse shoes for boys and girls were just $15. Other cute kid sneaks were priced at $8-$10 instead of $15-$16…. Which beats Payless prices.

If you need a gift for a baby shower they also had some great buys on newborn gift sets at $10 instead of $25-$35

The Magic Kids Outlet is a bit rough around the edges with items both on racks on boxes. There is a try on room,  in a restroom. You can exchange items but there are no returns.

At the moment there is no store sign and they send over a guy from the corporate offices to help ya out. But with steep savings everyday, this is a spot for savvy parents and grandparents to haunt.
