Oh to be a bride again….

If you’ve just gotten engaged or know someone how is, the first item on the list to purchase is a gown. Near the price of a new car, bridal gowns can take a big slice of your budget. But settling for a “cheapie” gown is not always the best idea either. You want to look spectacular on your big day. So finding a designer gown for less is the way to go.

New on the scene in LA is Glamour Closet. Started up in San Francisco in 2006, we now have our own location with daily savings of 25%-75% on upscale designer bridal gowns.

Billed as a Sample Sale, this outlet carries brand new in season and past season samples, discontinued and designer overstock gowns by such notables as Vera Wang, Reem Acra Monique Lhuillier, Carolina Herrera, Kenneth Pool, Amsale, Elizabeth Fillmore, Jenny Packham, Ulla Maija and more.

By buying back stock and samples direct from these designers as well as boutiques, owner Sandy Yeung is able to pass the savings along to brides. But her sample sale boutique is more than just discounted bridal gowns.

The savings can be striking…. A Vera Wang Silk Gazar ruched gown originally retailed at $6995, here it’s a much more tangible $2450. A Sae Young Vu simple sheath gown is $499 instead of the original $1750. An ethereal Rosa Clara (new Spanish designer) empire cut, silk gazar gown was a stunner at $2100 instead of $4320. A creamy Elizabeth Fillmore gown originally went for $6710, but is here at $1999. All gowns are sold off the rack, are in mint to near mint condition and are inspected before they are displayed on the racks. Any gown that looks too worn are either severely discounted or donated to charity.

At Glamour Closet it’s a Sample Sale everyday with new arrivals every month. Many of these gowns are perfect for red carpet events and other special occasions. You’ll get many of the same salon services here as other boutiques, but all sales are final and they do not do alterations but have a list of high quality seamstresses who they recommend.
