All Patio
Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner. Instead of purchasing new patio furniture, consider refurbishing the set you have. You can save 50%-80% on the cost of new.
We had old patio furniture we had inherited from hubby’s father. A classic set of 1970’s Brown Jordan: a round frosted table, with 4 chairs and a chaise wrapped in vinyl straps. We also had an old 1940’s rectangular wrought iron table with glass top. These older classic patio pieces were quality, but time and the elements had taken their toll. They needed to be refurbished.
Enter All Patio in Sylmar. Manufacturer licensed and recommended for refinishing and repair, Tony at All Patio has a vast knowledge of manufacturers, product type and construction. They’ll send a team over to first inspect your patio furnishings and give you a written quote of the work they think should be done.
The process works like this:
If needed, the frame is sandblasted down to the metal, removing existing and preparing it for a new finish. If a new finish isn’t needed they will carefully clean the base and frame.
Then they inspect for racks and breaks. They’ll weld and repair them so the frame is smooth and like new. They also make sure that the base is level. If the frame is steel or iron they’ll apply a zinc-based primer to help prevent rust. A powder coat is then applied. This is an extremely durable finish as it is electorstatically applied and baked on.
New vinyl straps are then added after the refinishing. You can choose from dozens of colors. The new straps are designed to resist fading and mildew. If you have sling furniture, they’ll cut new fabric, sew and install. They also can make custom cushions for any chair or sofa setting using SunBrella fabrics. Again there are a ton of choices.
Afterward they inspect your furniture thoroughly. New glides are added to insure your frame is protected and provide even wear.
In my case, Tony said they only piece that need complete refurbishing, sandblasting and powder coat was the wrought iron table. The other Brown Jordan pieces needed cleaning (they had some cement caked on them), re-strapping and some repair.
I paid $240 for the 4 chairs to be cleaned, strapped and repaired, $115 for the chaise to be cleaned, strapped and repaired and $198 for the rectangular iron table to be sandblasted and repainted in a white powder coat with 4 new gliders.
I am really happy with the results. I have a classic set in “like new” condition for at least 70% less than buying a new set of equal quality.
They pick up and deliver for a $125, You can probably avoid those costs if you can drop off and pick up yourself.
